BIOGRAPHY

Bethany Lavigno took the non-traditional route to becoming an attorney. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Despite her father’s nudging to attend law school, she elected to accept a scholarship and pursue a Master of Science from the University of Georgia.

The ten years following graduation were spent in both private and government sectors where she worked in the fields of City Planning and Economic Development. These areas spurred an interest in law, and she decided to return to school. Bethany was accepted at Georgia State University’s nationally ranked College of Law. She continued with her employment while attending night classes and joined her father’s private practice upon graduation.

Due to Bethany’s unique background, she pays special attention to the details in each case she handles. Bethany’s litigation experience encompasses all areas of criminal defense (ranging from DUI to murder cases), family law, property and land issues as well as condemnations, personal injury, estate planning and juvenile law. She is frequently appointed by judges to serve as a Guardian ad Litem. Bethany currently serves as the Solicitor for the City of Porterdale, a position which allows her to gain an alternative perspective of criminal law.

Bethany resides in Walton County with her husband, Zachary, their golden retriever, Rebel, and two cats, Ozzie and Blue. She and Zach enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, and traveling in their free time.
